Welcome to the Wairarapa Division.

Parkinson's Wairarapa is a small friendly group of people of varying ages.

Jane Flowerday is our Community Educator (a registered nurse) and she is the face most people with Parkinson's in the Wairarapa will see on a regular basis. Jane visits clients in their homes, care facilities and hospitals, offering education, support, advice and advocacy.

Jane's 21 hours a week of employment are managed over three days. South Wairarapa on Mondays; Wednesdays in the Parkinson's Wairarapa office at the Community Centre in Masterton and on client visits; Thursdays in the office, on visits and at our Masterton exercise class.

We have a committee which meets monthly. Our bi-monthly newsletter, Newsflash, features information, profiles, events and dates for the calendar. We hold functions and activities throughout the year. Our weekly groups include singing and walking.

As of January 2017, we had 93 clients. Annual membership of Parkinson's Wairarapa is $25 per family, or $20 for rest home residents. We rely on memberships to help fund our services.
