Shakers and Movers - singing for therapy

Join us tuesday mornings for an hour of fun and therapy. Singing is proven to be benifical to vocal clarity, breathing. swallowing, posture and mood. Join us for vocal exercises, a round of afew old favourites follwed by morning tea. ALL WELCOME. - This is group is open to anyone with a neurological condtition not just Parkinsons.

10.00am - Linton Park Community Centre 16 Kamahi Place. Entry by donation. Next meeting: October- 17th, 24th and 18th. November - 14th,21st and 28th. December 5th and 12th.

Parkinson’s Workshops 1 and 2

Most suited to HCA’s, support workers and nurses. Approximately 1 hour workshops on (1) an overview of Parkinson’s and (2) Parkinsons and Medications.

All participants receive a certificate of attendance.

EVENTS:    FIT YOUR CAR - Taupo Wednsday 25th October 2017 

Fit Your Car offers older drivers a 12 Point Check-Up of how well they personally “fit” their vehicle. It also provides related information and recommendations that can improve their safety as drivers and enhance their mobility in the community.

 

 

A CarFit check takes about 20 minutes with trained community volunteers and/or health professionals working with each participant to ensure they "fit" their vehicle properly for maximum comfort and safety.

To book your own personal 20 minute check up  contact : Rachel in the office or speak to our Community Educator.
