Parkinson's forces Ryman Chief Executive to resign

Simon Challies, managing director of the $4.9 billion Ryman Healthcare Ltd, surprised shareholders by announcing that he is stepping down because he has Parkinson's.

Challies who is in his mid-40s kept his condition a secret from the market for six years.

"I had times when I had trouble brushing my own teeth, let alone using a keyboard," said Challies in an interview with The New Zealand Herald.
